OpenSkies Down To One Aircraft?

Fri Jun 29, 2012 3:22 am

It seems that in the database, the only OpenSkies aircraft pictured since January is F-HAVN. I know OpenSkies got rid of one aircraft, but does this mean they are down to one aircraft now?

There were two Opensky 75W's alone in EWR tonight when I landed so definitely not a single a/c fleet.

According to AeroTransport Data Bank, Openskies operate 3 757's.

F-GPEK flew BOS2 EWR-ORY overnight, while a few hours after, F-HAVI flew BOS4 EWR-ORY.

Departures from ORY today:
0845z BOS1 to EWR is F-HAVN
1140z BOS3 to EWR is F-HAVI.

F-GPEJ was sold to Privatair on 17 April 2012, and re-registered HB-JJD.

I think they are getting rid if another though as the press release on the new cabin configuration only mentioned two 757s.

F-HAVN seems to be the one with the new three class service and cabins upgraded to match F-GPEK.

Quoting BA174 (Reply 4):
F-HAVN seems to be the one with the new three class service and cabins upgraded to match F-GPEK.

F-HAVN was ferried ORY-LHR on 7 June (EC920) and was returned to ORY on 21 June (EC921). I guess this visit was to update the cabins to seat up to 114 passengers, 20 in 'Biz Bed', 28 in 'Biz Seat' and 66 in 'Eco'. It certainly operated ORY-EWR-ORY (EC003/04) every day since 23 June.

Note that EC had been promoting the new 'Eco' class as being launched on 19 June with both ORY-EWR-ORY rotations updated by 29 June

The other two EC 752s have also both visited LHR recently. F-GPEK arrived on 20 June (EC910), returned to ORY on 22 June (EC911) and then operated ORY-EWR-ORY (EC001/02) from 22 to 29 June. F-HAVI arrived at LHR on 22 June (EC930) and departed on 28 June (EC931) and operated EC001/02 on 30 June and 1 July and EC001 today (2 July)..

I do not understand the two-day visit of 'EK to LHR - perhaps minor maintenance - but the return of 'VI on 28 June afte six days coincides with the second flight planned update from 29 June.
