To my knowledge there have never been any scheduled services, so I would assume the only B6 flights operated to Canada were charters.

Wasn't JetBlue thinking about YYZ and YUL at one time?

B6 used to have maintenance done by Aveos (part of AC) at YEG, which doesn't exist anymore. Around 2006 it was contracted to Empire Aero in Rome, NY but now it think it is done by Aeroman in El Salvador.

Pretty sure the mtc for B6 was done in YWG (Winnipeg) not YEG (Edmonton).

No. It was probably there for maintenance or a charter. My understanding is that there is/was a reasonably close relationship with WestJet (back in the David Neeleman days). I don't know if this has anything to do with B6 not serving Canada or if it's because they wanted to focus on the US/Central America/Caribbean.

It seems to me that they could make money serving YYZ from JFK and/or BOS. Since they haven't done it in the 10+ years they've been in the air, there must be a pretty good reason why not.

B6 does serve BUF. Now VX did serve YYZ before they discontinued service.

B6 will not go to Canada as the taxes and fees for landing at the airport are just too high...especially YYZ

If you notice, they fill up quite a few mainline flights out of BUF (up to 10 a day to JFK) as Canadian tourists leave their own country to search for cheaper options over the border.

B6 did make noises about YYZ, YUL, YHM and maybe? YYC service at various times, but never anything firm that i can recall. YYZ or YHM would be self defeating for them really; same pax as going to BUF with higher costs, as would YUL vs BTV.

I don't think YYZ will ever see JetBlue since as it is most of the people that go out of BUF are from Canada. It's a lot more cost effective and faster in some cases than taking anything out of YYZ. I think I saw one estimate that 60% of travelers through Buffalo are from the Toronto.

Currently the A320s are serviced by Aeroman in SAL, PEMCO in TPA and TIMCO in LCQ. E190s are done by EAMS in BNA.

It was YWG, correct. I don't think it was Aveos though, I think it was ACTS back when we used to use it...that was a long time ago LOL!

Every time I have been on the BTV-JFK flight, 1/2 of the customers onboard were speaking French LOL. We have a lot of Canadians crossing over and going out of BTV too!

Some a/c also spent time at Exeltech (YUL) in 2009 for light maintenance.

Yes, that was a "trial run" to see about doing HMV checks up in YUL. I'm guessing it never worked out since we never wound up sending planes up there going forward from that trial. I forgot about that too, and I'm in a department that deals with that LOL!

Taxes are what is keeping B6 out if Canada. Another problem is the trsnsborder market is over 60% Canada pos. this puts US carriers at ma distinct disadvantage.

Can't see how BUF could ever be faster than YYZ, unless you live closer to BUF than YYZ. From the YYZ city center to BUF airport is 108 miles (174 km), at least a 2 hour drive, plus the uncertain wait at one of the busiest Canada-U.S. border crossings.

We only do charter service. I remember pushing a flight that was going JFK-YWG last year. Forgot who it was for but it was a charter.

While some people flying out of BUF may be from Toronto, you also have to realize there are a million Canadians closer to BUF than YYZ. I would guess that BUF (and their local carriers) are tapping that market.

From Canada maybe, but not from Toronto. The drive from the Toronto area is a horror show at best. You travel along one of Canada's busiest highways, one that is most prone to traffic jams ... to hit a border, that I have heard waits up to two hours long to cross. In summer the Niagara Falls traffic can be backed up as far as St. Catherines!

Then, if you want to try it in winter, it's even worse. If the lake effect snow doesn't get you in BUF itself, it will along the QEW from Hamilton to Niagara!

You have no idea how many times I have heard people bragging about the low fares out of BUF, only a month later to be telling the tale of woe of missed flights trying to get there.
Just because I stopped arguing, doesn't mean I think you are right. It just means I gave up!

Partially, maybe. If JB felt there was money to be made in YYZ, they would fly here.

The Toronto-NYC market is very competitive. Look at all these players with nonstops:
YYZ-JFK: AC, AA, DL
YYZ-LGA: AC, AA, WS
YYZ-EWR: AC, UA
YTZ-EWR: PD

JB would only be interested in YYZ-JFK and with 3 carriers offering nonstops already, I doubt they would bite.

I know people that regularly drive to BUF from Toronto for cheap flights. The drive is not bad off-hours although I've never done it to catch a flight from BUF, and likely never will. If you check the fares on WN, JetBlue and AirTran flights from BUF, its amazing how low they are to even so-called low fares from YYZ.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Currently 72 daily nonstops Toronto-New York (all carriers/airports combined).
