May 2000: (Paris-Washington) four or five movies (most of them rather crappy in my opinion - dramas and so-called cultural stuff, at least the newest James Bond was being shown) and 10 or so crappy games (from pacman to solitaire) They managed to show each movie 3 times during the flight, so theoretically you can watch 3 different movies in the air.

I think the audio channels (around 10) were pretty standard as in all airlines (one with modern music, a few classic music channels, some easy listening stuff and some international music, country music and other boring stuff)

But still better to have that movie/game choice than to be forced to watch the same as everyone else (Af A340)....

Languages: French, English, and sometimes the native language of the destination.

Dumb question, I'm sure, but does AF have PTVs installed in coach in the A340's? What about their 777's?

Bonjour Flashmeister !

No dumb question !

All Air France's B777 are equipped with our "Promenade" program featured in my post higher up. All seats of all cabins on the 777 are equipped with the PTV's.

Our A340 fleet is half equipped with all the planes from F-GLZM onwards being equipped with "Promenade" and the PTV's in all cabins. Air France as invested a few hundreds of millions to install the "Promenade" system to all A340's and the rest of the fleet should be flying with the PTV's by the end of 2001.

Then our A330-200 and B777-300 will be delivered from the factory with the PTV's as well.

Happy Flying,

AF Cabin Crew.

Salut AF Cabin Crew,

thanks alot for the detailed information. It's always great to get 'first hand' info.
About the frequent flyer thing : Don't worry about it, a few weeks ago I got a call from Air France Germany and they told me some things and also last week I received my Fréquence Plus card which made me very, very happy. I was surprised that I got it before I actually flew on AF.
If I hadn't gotten the call from AF I would certainly have contacted you again. So thanks again anyway. I'm so much looking forward to this long flight.

Oh, what I forgot to ask, what is the difference between Airshow 1 and Airshow 2 ???
Is one just showing the map and the other one giving you the info on speed, altitude and stuff ?

Thanks, B737-700

Bonjour B737-700 !

Airshow 1 is the 3D map and information concerning the flight.

Airshow 2 is put on 45 minutes before the planes arrival in Paris. It shows all the connections to be made within the next hour or so on your flight. It indicates the destination, flight number, time and gate of departure.

Happy Flying,

AF Cabin Crew
