Particular Delta B763ER Flying On Domestic Routes.

Mon Jul 16, 2012 8:09 pm

Delta's ship #1601 (N169DZ), which is the only non-76T to have received the compete interior mods so far, has been flying solely on domestic flights since June 21st. Why would such a rare aircraft, one of eight to have been updated so far, not be flying on some of the international routes that these aircraft are assigned to, i.e. flights of more than twelve hours. Perhaps DL is trying to promote it on domestic flights to showcase the interior mods? Any other ideas please?

It's being used as an operational spare at the moment. Why this particular ER IDK.

Today it's subing for a 757. Yesterday's flight to PDX wa suppose to be on an old config 767 (as DL 773 always is).
What gets measured gets done.

Well, it's messing up the flat-bed 76ER routes  . Delta loaded skeds for the summer assuming all eight would be in service for JFK-FRA/BRU/CDG/MAD/ACC and ATL-ACC/MAD/BRU but now that they only have seven 76Ts, each route gets the old ER at least once a week now....kind of a pain especially when one is expecting a flat bed....

It may have to do with some issues they have had with the IFE system.
New airliners.net web site sucks.
