LH Operating For OS

Thu Jul 19, 2012 1:09 pm

Since July 2nd, D-AIGM, a Lufthansa Airbus 340-300 is operting OS839, the daily flight between VIE and DXB.

Anyone know why? Is OS short of 767s? Until when is that scheduled to continue?

Does LH have many "spare" 340s?

Pilot shortage due to the transfer of operations from OS to VO certificate plus due to the phase-out of the B737NG fleet in favor of more A32X.

I suspect they have begun the longhaul retrofits for the new cabin and/or heavy maintenance?

The OS longhaul fleet is barely sufficient for the amount of places they fly.

I think there is only one spare.
