SK Using Charter Aircraft?

Sat Jul 21, 2012 6:56 am

Today SK 925/926 CPH-IAD-CPH was flown with a chartered 777 instead of the standard SK A330/340. The 777 said Euro Atlantic on it and it was a white base color 777-200. Anyone know why SK is using this?

Yes, they had to take another aircraft out of operation due to damage caused by a jet bridge. In order not to affect passengers too much, they have hired in Euro Atlantic to operate for them this weekend.

Oh was this the one that rolled back at the gate at IAD and nearly ripped the boarding door off the aircraft?

So two SAS A330/340 are out of service? I thought they had a small fleet to start?

What happened at IAD and ORD?

Quoting plateman (Reply 6):

In IAD, Swissport pulled the main gear chocks with the boarding door still open and jetway still on and the brakes were not set so the plane rolled back and nearly ripped the door off the aircraft. SK had to fly in engineers to fix the door.
