Does someone have the HA timetable and knows what other long haul flights these connect to with reasonable connection times?

That's going to be similar to the experience ex-Australia: basically tourists need to head straight for a neighbour island and make Waikiki their final stop. That is the reverse scenario to Air New Zealand, whose late night arrival time requires all passengers to head for a hotel in Waikiki at the start of their trip.

The reason why Hawaiian's flights encourage an immediate neighbour island departure is that most Hawaiian hotels won't check guests in before 3pm.

So a passenger destined for Maui, for example, can reasonably book a connecting flight which arrives at Kahului around 1230, get some lunch and then head off to their hotel.

But a passenger who has booked to stay on Oahu will most likely get to the hotel around 11 am with no chance of getting a room assigned for another four hours.

With the AKL to HNL arrival time of 9:45am the following connections are possible and not too unreasonable when you consider having to transit immigration and customs. Times listed are HA HNL departures.

SFO 1:55pm
SEA 1:15pm
LAX 2:05pm
JFK 3:05pm
LAS 4:35pm

With a 1:45pm departure from HNL to AUK there are several good connections from HA mainland cities. Time listed are HA arrivals in HNL.

SFO 12:00noon
SEA 11:45am
LAX 11:15am
LAS 12:15pm
JFK Flight from JFK arrives at 3:05pm, or an hour and twenty minutes following the departure to AUK. Could stay
the night in Waikiki however.

In addition to the connections HNL-Jack mentioned, there's also these departures from HNL to:

OAK 1:35pm
PHX 2:55pm
SJC 1:50pm
PDX 2:40pm
SAN 2:35pm
Also, the afternoon LAS flight leaves at 3:00pm, not 4:35pm.

The return flights from those cities will connect to AKL, with the arrival times in HNL of:

OAK 12:20pm
PHX 11:25am
SJC 12:30pm

The PDX and SAN flights would probably be a little too tight to make a connection, with arrival times in HNL of 1:05pm and 12:50pm respectively.

something to add, that I hadn't thought of until now is that there will be no connecting traffic from AKL except overnight stops. The last domestic flights leave just before and after 2100.

Mmmm good point, makes it less attractive for non-Aucklanders.

As alluded to in the press release linked in the route announcement thread Hawaiian Announces HNL-AKL the "fantastic" connection possibilities, at least on the HNL end, that Glenn Wedlock touted. Although still not the main intent of HA and likely won't be played up much by HA itself, this single city pair has made HNL a more than attractive PoE to the US and a decent hub of transit for HA and its travel partners between Oceania and the west coast USA.

I guess they have decided to go for the extra connections at the HNL end, I think the SYD/BNE arrival departure is slightly later and misses alot of these connections in HNL.

From 9th April
HNL 1425 AKL 2140
AKL 2340 HNL 1030

The SYD and BNE arrivals are both morning arrivals as well, with SYD being the latest, but still connecting to the entire mainland network. It's the westbound flying for SYD and BNE that will require an overnight for most cities.
