Another Crash In Southeast Alaska - 1 Killed

Fri Aug 03, 2012 5:46 am

I think this is the 2nd time in 6 or 7 weeks that Air Excursions has had a plane go missing/not land where its supposed to. The weather this morning in Juneau was NOT VFR and this airline has a history of 'blasting' thru it, hence their facebook page saying "Air Ex to the Rescue". Wings of Alaska/SeaPort didn't get anything into Gustavus (only Medallion commuter in Juneau) -- but what surprises me is that it appears this was a CFIT en route to Gustavus, and I believe all of their planes have Capstone in them.... :/

Lets hope this just a minor 'bump' in the road for Air Ex and we can continue flying without a passenger casualty for another 5 years!

The Juneau Empire link apparently has been updated:

I was a bit confused since I didn't get immediately that the second link refers to another incident...
