Two Small Planes Decide To Dance At BNA

Tue Aug 14, 2012 8:21 pm

It looks like a a couple of small planes decided to mix it up on the ground at Nashville BNA. Not sure how this one happened but it doesn't appear to have included injuries.

Looking at the pictures, I don't see any doors or emergency exits open. Therefore I think both planes were unattended. I know I shouldn't be an armchair accident investigator, but it looks like the Gulfstream rolled into the King Air.

I love what the news article says about the planes:

Quote:
Officials said the planes were a Gulf Stream plane and a King Air plane. It was unknown what airline the planes were from.

Looking at some of the photos, it appears the King Air was chocked and the Gulfstream has a tow bar attached. Not sure if this occurred prior to the incident.

The king air must have been owned by Hunts and Heinz had to show who was in charge...

According to the NBC affiliate news report the Gulf Stream was being towed and broke free of the tow bar. The King Air arrived about 9:00 AM this morning and was suppose to depart to MEM at 4:00 PM CST today. One aircraft was leased to Bank of America.

I guess in a way it was fortunate for the Gulfstream that it collided with something. With the ravines surrounding the BNA rampways, that could have been a total loss.
