Bye Bye Aeroflot Orange Seats?

Thu Aug 16, 2012 10:23 pm

From a picture of the new ( ? ) A330-300 VQ-BPI, it seems that Aeroflot has done away with those intriguingly orange seats!

Definitely a bit more subdued... lets hope these stay in a better condition than the orange ones. When I flew with Aeroflot last year, the seat covers were starting to look very tatty and falling to bits considering the young age of the aircraft!

Fortunately they have some orange piping so it is not completely bland. I like it.

I like it too. For some reason I find the new seat covers somewhat military like in design. like a uniform would be.

BUT, it's unusual and understated. Actually, kind of in a classy way.

Thanks for bringing this up, I didn't know there was a change.

It also seems like it went from cloth to leather - or is that just my mind? Maybe it's easier to clean this way. Either way, I actually like the darker seats with the orange accents.

Leather seats last a lot longer than fabric covered seats do. That's one reason why they have become so popular in recent years. They may be more expensive to purchase, but last long enough to recoup the money spent to acquire them.

I find some leather seats to be rather slippery. Once you seem to have found the perfect seated position, you slide down out of the seat.

Don't worry they still have hot sexy hostesses dressed in orange.

They should get kudos for retaining their ear pillows. I never understand why some carriers have chosen not to have them; if you're in coach, it's a very nice thing to have so you don't have to deal with a pillow that slides around everywhere, especially on leather seats. Regardless, I like both the orange seats and the blue seats with orange outlines; you'd never see that on a US carrier.

Love their infamous orange seats.
Never liked the leather seats, they are slippery and tacky.
They give me the cheap feeling, eventhough they are more expensive in reality.
Maybe because many low-cost carriers opt to use the leather seats.
I also hate the feeling when my arse touch those slippery leather.
Let's just blame it on yields.
