Are TWA's 717's Leased?

Mon Oct 16, 2000 9:42 am

Considering my username, I'm a little embarrassed to not know this.

I noticed that the FAA page lists Trans World's 717's as -200 and not -231.

Just curious...

A question to you TWA717_200 that I don't know. What does the 231 mean or on Southwest 737-700's they say 737-7H4? What is those specific numbers mean?

The aircraft are officially designated as 717-231s

TW does not own any of them outright. They are financed through FSBU and TW does not own the physical deed to any one of them yet. However, they eventually will.
