Baton Rouge Air Service

Mon Aug 27, 2012 3:55 pm

Does anyone think Baton Rouge will see an increase in frequency/cities served from current carriers?
Also what about new carriers? Several have attempted but failed in Baton Rouge according ot past history. Please advise.

G4, V2 and F9 have already come and gone in the past few years.

At least this last attempt of US seems to have stuck... I think this is their third attempt - they used to fly B19s to New Orleans in the early 90's, and then later had a brief stint of BTR-CLT in the early 00's.

If US and AA do merge, the airport will be down to just DL, UA and AA (like many other small airports). I can only imagine how much more expensive the tickets will be... I guess a lot more people will be making the treck to MSY.

IMHO, as long at the AP Director is there treating BTR like his own personal airport and everyone wants to cater to "him", then I would say no. MSY is only an hour or so away by driving.
