Question About Forney Field (TBN)

Sun Sep 02, 2012 2:19 pm

It has commercial service, with an EAS subsidy for that matter, but is located on an active military base (Fort Leonard Wood). As far as I can tell anyone can fly into the airport, even people with no connection to the military. Do passengers have to go through background checks in addition to the standard security screening?

No, and the situation isn't not that uncommon. BLV is also an extremely active military base (it currently has no scheduled service, but it has had G4 and G4 has reannounced it), and VPS is similar, though I don't know it well enough to know how much does or doesn't go on at Eglin these days.
I can't decide whether I miss the tulip or the bowling shoe more
