DL B763ER Interior Mods Schedule?

Tue Sep 04, 2012 12:31 am

I see that N199DN has been out of service since 08/15/12 when it arrived in NRT. Did this aircraft go on to HAECO in HKG as the next to be outfitted with the interior mods, now we are getting closer to the start of the winter schedules?
Also does anyone have any further info on when N173DN will be brought back into service from MZJ? I'm surprised that it wasn't needed for this summer's schedule but it probably needs a C or D check so I would imagine that it will go directly to HAECO when DL needs it.

I think 173 is stored in VCV with 3 other 767-332. I don't think 173 RTS has any date. From the list I have none on the DL VCV 767 have a RTS date. I know more MD-90s are going to leave MJZ soon, but not poor 173. HTH

It was originally planned to be returned to lessor. I recently saw it was going back into service, I do not recall exactly when though.

Actually, that will be the new configuration for the ex-Gulf Air 763ERs (actually 26J/29Y+/171Y), which will be known as 76Z after mods. Most of the 763ER fleet (which will be 76Ls after mods) will have a 36J/24Y+/151Y configuration.

Actually coke is right. Ships 187-199 will be in a 26/200. It's in our on-board manuals. And those ships will be known as 76Z

Thanks for the update. So ultimately, there will be three configurations for the 763ER fleet?

76T:

36J + 172Y/Y+; separate pilot and FA bunks
Total of 7 aircraft: ships 1607 - 1613
Total completed: 7
In Progress: 0

76Z:

26J (25J for sale) + 200Y/Y+; separate FA bunks; pilot to use 1 J seat
Total of 20 aircraft?: ships 187 - 199; ships 1501-1506 (ex-Gulf); ship 1521 (ex-OZ)* - assuming the ex-Gulf get this configuration as well
Total completed: 0
In Progress: 1 (ship 199)

76U:

36J (35J for sale) + 175Y/Y+; separate FA bunks; pilot rest to use 1 J seat
Total of 31 aircraft: ships 171-186 (minus 173); 1200-1201; 1601-1606; 1701-1708
Total completed: 1 (ship 1601)
In Progress: 0

At this point, all we know is that ships 187-199 (as 757boy stated) will get the mod and be known as 76Z
Its my understanding that the present 76U's will later become 76T or Z's. And a new identifier for a modded "G"

For how long does DL plan to keep these planes for? And what is the current age range? Looking at the 767 production list, the youngest 763ER seems to be from 2004: http://www.planespotters.net/Product...767/index.php?dir=desc&sort=ln&p=2

What type of engines will this new 76Z configuration have, will they be all PW-powered?

The same powerplant they have now...

All they're doing is updating the interiors. These are a/c currently in Delta's fleet.

So, what will happen to the 76L configuration? Currently, only one aircraft (Ship 1601/N169DZ) has this configuration. Are there still plans to use this configuration on most of the fleet?

When do DL plan to finish the upgrades? Seem to have a lot to do if the plan is to be ready for next summer season. Last time i flew a 767 to CDG it was definitely in need of an interior overhaul.
