Flights Diverted From ANC?

Wed Sep 05, 2012 5:31 pm

I am just curious if any/how many flights got diverted from Anchorage last night because of the wind storm? Would they all divert to Fairbanks?

That list only includes AS flights... I wonder how UA and DL did.

It was certainly very bad- the highway was full of trees when I drove in late last night, and no evidence of electricity could be seen anywhere except ML&P Station 2!!!

How did the airport fare?

I'm not in town now, but I would be interested to see how Lake Hood and Merrill Field handled the winds. When it gets as windy as it did, it is worth parking a truck in front of your plane.

According to the article I found on the news miner website, 7 flights were diverted. Four Alaska, one Delta, one United, and one US Airways.

Did they not divert any cargo flights? (other than NAC mentioned in the article)
