Qantas And Emirates Website

Thu Sep 06, 2012 8:26 pm

www.qantasandemirates.com

The website for the partnership. Seems to have been made by QF, bc in my opinion EK should've come first in the website

Also, check out this video about the partnership posted on EK's channel:

Is it really the official website?
It looks very amateur to me. Something like an aviation geek would come up with in his spare time.
No offense to QF & EK if this is a official website.

Edit: spelling mistake

Thats exactly what I thought when I first saw it. Not even a basic copyright/legal info at the bottom of the page...

But it appears on both QF and EK's official pages, so it has to be the real deal.

*subject to regulatory approval

a-hem...

Maybe that's why the site looks like it was designed by a 20-something intern.

And it basically showed the same information one gets from the press releases, just split into several pages with no useful graphics.

Can they, in the very least, show the route network of affected routes?
It's huaiwei...not huawei. I have nothing to do with the PRC! :)

That refers to the alliance between QF and EK and not that approval is required for the website. The agreement needs to be approved by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and other relevant regulatory authorities before it can go ahead.

I doubt if the web developers (probably a third party) were given much information to play with. From what was said at the press conference this deal came about very quickly and the players have likely had little time to generate much in the way of public documentation, especially as getting approval for copy would have been very complicated - even worse with the dual nature of the negotiations. I suspect that it only exist as a short term brochure website and that further updates will probably appear on the main Qantas and Emirates websites.

It actually makes a lot of sense for QF to come first -- Australian consumers are the main benefactors from the deal, and far more Aussies know QF than EK...

It is hard to say. QF benefits from being able to withdraw from FRA and utilise the aircraft more effectively elsewhere, lowering its costs while increasing its ability to sell destinations in Europe/ MENA. EK will benefit from a greater footprint in the Australian market by capturing QF frequent flyers.

As to the dollar value, analysts have suggested it will improve QF's bottom line by adding about $90 million to its pre-tax profit. There has been a paucity of information on revenue sharing with published statements simply stating that there will be codesharing and access to frequent flyer benefits, lounges, etc.

Agreed. This is awful and the guy doing the narration sounds like he has some weird impediment...

and more from SQ and soon enough, BA and QR ... London sky will be full of flying whales!!!

While the website is immature, the implications of this partnership is HUGE. Does QF's position in OW change or remain as it is?!! Or will EK eventually do similar partnerships with the other OW members as well?

changed from "merger" to "partnership" Big grin

I'm pretty sure that this is fake. As has been noted, there is a lack of copyright/legal info on it. No 'All Rights Reserved 2012', etc.

Taking a look at the pics, they are all slightly different. The emirates.com picture is a mirrored copy of the qantas.com one, with the tarmac lights removed. Also, the qantas.com one has text on it, while emirates.com does not. The qantasandemirates.com has terminals behinds both sets of aircraft. The emirates one made a point to show A380s on for both QANTAS and Emirates, while the others aren't so obvious. They are very similar, but different.

Really? then why do both Qantas and Emirates link to it? It's not a fake.

And this thread is little more than nitpicking
