Couldn't find any evidence, source? Or is it word to mouth?

I've been searching for a source too. Right now I've only been told by my best friend who is a B6 FA. He said no one is getting furloughed. Everyone is being reassigned. Sorry, only word of mouth right now. He told me this Friday.

Cheers,

One of their GSE mechanics told us they were told they could get hired by the outsourcing company.

Does B6 do any out sourcing and is this just for a certain station or something?

The big thing is that is happening at their main base of operations @ JFK. Catering and GSE are being given as I understand the options to go customer service or ramp. Now the the smaller stations who may have these in-house positions may see a trickle effect. This is no rumor folks as I've been told by people from B6, its going to happen just a matter of when. It really shocked me that it was at JFK though.

They will also be bringing in-house the ramp at LGA and BDL to help absorb displaced provisioning employees. This from a reliable source.

All in all, it sucks for the affected employees, but as some have said to me, any other company would've just walked in and handed out pink slips no questions asked.

Sure a job is a job, but if you live in Queens why would you be interested in moving to BDL to keep your position with B6? I know a lot of people in the industry do that when positions are eliminated but that's really the lesser of two evils, particularly if you're not a mechanic or inflight crew.

B6's whole image is not outsourcing... yet here we go.

I don't think this is a good sign for B6.

They don't have the super young fleet they used to, they are trying to cut costs.

It may be a great sign if they continue with the same service levels and can save costs to compete better. SW is doing the same thing.

Does B6 have its own catering division? Where I work, Gate Gourmet owns the catering and they fix everything. The airline pays a certain sum and get some percentage of the sales, but I believe the main risk lies with Gate Gourmet. I think many airlines in Europe have it this way.

WN is very limited to what it can outsource.

not all companies. Most companies have rules they must fallow.
now most wouldn't be opening other stations to give those people a job.

Lol what? I guess that is outside of MX because I'm fairly sure they have work done in TPA (PEMCO) and SAL (errr Aero something i think)
