ZRH: Additional Apron Space + Taxi Ways

Tue Sep 18, 2012 7:12 am

Hui guys!

In case you visit the famous Heli Grill spotter place in ZRH these days, you will find this information here:

ZRH is increasing the apron space to accommodate more aircraft's on remote positions from the gate areas.
It seems there will be even changes at the maintenance facilities.

Could anyone shed more light on this?

Thanks!

Greetz,
Patrick

After looking at this plan, what I don't understand is this desire to continue the legacy of the concrete formerly known as runway 4/22, turned taxiway, turned partial ramp. Just fill in the gaps; and instead of having 2 1/2 ramps over there just have one large expandable one.

When would the construction begin ?

Why don't they use the piece of land behind dock midfield instead ? That would avoid some of the aircraft having to cross runways.

This area is a wildlife preserve, especially for ornotological (non-metal  ) species.
Good day to you sir! Please turn left, your seat is in the first row.
