What Airlines Would You Like To Try?

Tue Oct 17, 2000 9:09 pm

Just a small opinion poll,
Which airlines and on what class of service would you like to try (and the route, perhaps).
Please vote for the ones you HAVEN'T tried before...

Myself
Economy Class:
Royal Brunei Airlines from Brisbane to BWN (767-300)
United Airlines MEL - LAX
ANA, JAL -- always wanted to experience genuine Japanese service
Emirates -- is it really THAT good?

Business Class:
Malaysia Airlines KUL - NYC onboard 777s
New BA Club World LHR - HKG
Ansett Australia onboard 747-400 SYD - OSA

First Class:
Singapore Airlines 747-400 SIN - LAX
BA First 747-400 LHR - BNE
Lufthansa 747-400 FRA - HKG

I would like to try out alot of the Asian carriers, particularly Cathay Pacific and Singapore (cause I have heard nothing but praise of them on here). I would also like to try Virgin Atlantic, Swissair and KLM.

Economy class
BA - world traveller plus, probably transatlantic
Singapore
Cathay Pacific

Business class
ANA - 744s on American routes (such as NRT-LAX) where they have Super Style
Virgin Atlantic - upper class, transatlantic

First class
Singapore - SIN-LAX, yeah, why not
Emirates
a bunch of otheres...

I'd love to try out Legend, probably from DAL-IAD since I have friends in Maryland. I'd like to fly on Midwest Express someday, too. Although I've flown Continental in the past, it was about 10 years ago, when they were having lots of problems and had low employee morale. From what I've read they are a completely different (better) airline than they were back then. I'd like to try out the "new and improved" version.

One airline I'd be fascinated to try (yes, seriously), is Air Koryo; that would be a real adventure.

On planet earth and having regained my sanity, I'd like to work down through the list of Asian airlines - SIA, Malaysia, Thai and EVA Air would top the hit list there.

Air Canada gets a lot of good press here, so they would also be on the list.

EL AL would be a very interesting experience - I'd be interested to know just how different they are.

And finally, Sabena; they get a lot of stick and I've heard bad things about them, but again, are they that bad. I really must fly Europe's largest airline, Lufthansa, too.

Considering that the majority of my flying has been on DL and UAL, and there commuters, I would love to try lots of airlines. However, SIA is at the top of my list, and right behind it is Emirates. I would actually like to try all classes. Qantas and Virgin are two that I would love to fly sometime as well. I hope I get to travel enough to make all of this come true!

I also forgot to mention Air France and South African... I almost got to fly SAA to Johannesburg, but my company canceled my trip two days before I was to go there for 3 months.

I would love to try Cathay Pacific, Virgin Atlantic, and Qantas in all classes since I haven't flown with them, SQ's new first class (travelled SQ's old first class once, SIN-HIJ), BA new Club World (travelled twice on old Club World SIN-LHR, LHR-BOS back in 1993).

I would love to try out National on a short hop cuz I know those 757s are damn uncomfortable. I would also love to try Virgin from LAX-LHR in their upper class. I wanna fly SAA nonstop from JFK-JNB in their first class. And with CO starting the EWR-HKG service with their 777s, I would LOVE to fly first class on one of those.

I only say I would love to fly first class because coach on so many airlines I've tried are just HORRIBLE. Even though I'll NEVER be able to afford first class on ANY of these flights, I like to dream. Hey, it could happen.....ok, probably not.

I am suprised nobody has mentioned this before, but I'd really like to give Midwest Express a try. Their standard product is so very different from run of the mill coach service in the US that it would be worth the extra few bucks. Also I think a flight on a Reeve Electra would be worth the trip to Alaska for it. Plus I would prefer to fly First class, I got a comp upgrade last May on PHX-BWI on HP, i just like the additional room and more personal service. But that won't happen for a while, until more FF miles roll in.
