Singapore-barcelona Does Anyone Know Loads

Sun Sep 30, 2012 4:22 pm

Hi all

I would like to know how the Singapore Barcelona flight is doing. Does anyone here have loads on this flight.

These are my principles but if you don't like them I have others

Only anecdotal evidence here. I've taken it twice. Both times the non-stop BCN-SIN coming from GRU and the same in reverse. The four flights were very close to 100% full, both in J and Y. I don't know about F.

Do they have 5th freedom to move pax between BCN and GRU?

Of course they do. Otherwise, they wouldn't be operating flights into GRU.

Never been on the SIN-BCN-GRU route but according to a friend who travels on it quite a bit, the BCN-GRU and GRU-BCN leg is packed in all three cabin classes

I also only have anectodal evidence to report: I flew BCN-SIN-BCN in August 2011 and BCN-GRU-BCN in December/January 2012. All flights nearly full. No more than a handfull transit passengers at BCN,which could easily be identified as they had to deboard and reboard and had priority boarding.

They - the transit pax - looked to me like Brazilians going to Asia or Singapore airlines staff. However, there were many Chinese on board on the BCN-GRU flight that seem to have stopped over in BCN.

It has to be noted that Singapore then required a yellow fever vaccination (may be still does) for those flying BCN-SIN if they had been in Brazil some previous 72h. So it could be that some pax travelling from GRU to SIN MUST to stop in BCN for a day or two to not fall under that requirement.

Nevertheless, BCN-GRU-BCN appears to me nearly unrelated to SIN from a load perspective

Flew SIN-BCN-SIN in F in June and it was 100% full both ways.

is there any likelyhood of a second daily service or upgrade to A380, although I realise finding the frames to do this may not be that easy.....?
