The long awaited replacement terminal for the Midland, Bay City, Saginaw area which was scheduled to open in late 2013 is now scheduled to open later this month. It will replace an obsolete terminal that was constructed in 1965. More info regarding the new terminal can be found at the second link below.

Comparing the two terminals on google maps, area-wise, they don't look much different in size. I know there's more to it than size, but I guess I was expecting it larger (although seems more than adequate for current service levels).

Not to mention that G4 is pulling out of MBS.

This might be the wrong terminal at the wrong time.
"Did he really need the triple bypass? Or was it the miles?"

New MBS Terminal Opening Soon

"We didn't want to inconvenience the passengers during the four, five, six years of construction," said Jeff Nagel, MBS airport Manager. "It's a replacement terminal building. It was decided back in 2004 that the other building was substantially deficient. We needed to do something to protect the airport for the next 30 or 40 years. We didn't need to do a three- or four-year fix, we needed a long-term fix."
