In the past bmi operated some charter flights from LGW and MAN to GVA for the past few winters.

Are these not returning this year?

Interesting that there appears to be not enough demand for a winter sun charter, season may be too short and flight sector too long.

I think the travel companies who specialise in "winter sun" have plenty of their own metal to operate the flights operating from their usual bases. BA's charter work appears almost exclusively to be weekend use of otherwise unutilised slots and aircraft, operating either from LHR or LCY
Additionally "winter sun" appears to be a very low yield operation, I doubt they do much more than cover the direct costs of the flight and hotel, certainly not enough fat to pay for BA operating from LHR. Skiing is entirely different, the clients are spending far more money, and likely to want the convenience of a LHR or LCY departure.

Surprised Barrhead Travel (who exclusively used BA) for some of their summer program hadn't decided to use BACF for some Winter Sun or Ski flights. The feedback by all accounts has been great and passengers have been delighted with the Embs particularly the legroom.
