I have to say, the scheme in my opinion does not fit this small plane-

Sure beats Spirit, IMO. The colors are a common sight, so it fits the brand.

The titles are an awkward size. They should either shrink it to fit above the window line or go with larger billboard titles. And slide the blue back towards the actual leading edge of the tail. There's too much of it and it makes the plane look too stubby.

I see that 319 doesnt have a US Reg. Will it get one? or is allegiant doing what Sun Country does with their 738's?

The only planes SY has flown with foreign regs are the peak season leases from carriers like Transavia. Their entire full time fleet are all N registered in the US.

What happened to the tail? The yellow and red need to be reversed, and the sunrays are anything but symetrical. Too much blue on the @$$-end, it should be brought back so the diagonal slices through the door. I understand the need to fit the titles between the door and the emergency exit, but they need to scale back the blue on the rear of the plane. In this case, white engines would balance the look much better than the blue...

I think the poster meant that in the picture it appears that the nose cone is missing, which is the first thing I noticed as well.

It's bearing the registration of its previous operator, easyJet Switzerland. It probably won't be re-registered until it is delivered.

I wasn't aware Allegiant was going for Airbus aircraft, will their entire MD80 fleet be replaced by A319's? Will they also be flying from MIA?

Silly question, but I have seen Allegiant use they stairs built into the plane at RAP. Will they have to plan their cities based on this capability for the Airbuses? Or is the cost of using ground stairs at airports negligible? I'm sure it doesn't outweigh the fuel savings, but I just never thought about the stairs until now. It was a nice feature to fly around with for an airline that flies to hole in the wall airports and rarely uses jetways.

It was revealed several months back when they were hiring for an Airbus fleet director. Then they announced they would start buying A319s. Right now they will maintain the MD80 fleet and most of these will be growth aircraft.

MIA on G4? Doubt it.

Does look a bit odd on a plane that looks shorter and pudgier compared to an MD-83. And the two sets of overwing exits on a 319....small seat pitch inside.

Which are handled by someone other than G4, who is just supplying the aircraft. They tend to have 2 aircraft in OKC all the time, due to their mx being done here, but they still don't fly here regularly anymore (outside of charters). They have FLL and that makes going to MIA pretty pointless on a scheduled basis.

I see, thanks. So this means that they can still send the A319 to MIA to fly for someone else(?)

That's the whole premise behind chartering an aircraft.

I could call G4 and ask to charter one of their planes and have it go to SEA. Doesn't mean they are going to start service to SEA, but I'm paying them to fly me there.

Yes, I know that but I was under the impression that Allegiant themselves flew to/from MIA.

They have to do something about the titles! Perhaps like Frontier does. Put the name of the company in big letters, as it is free advertising! And I agree with the tail, needs better work on it for sure. I like it, but it feels like something is not right when it comes to their scheme in comparison to the MD-80.

Jet2 seem to have copied Allegiants colour scheme since they leased two B757's. Maybe they're hoping for a take over by Allegiant?

Allegiant (under its own name and as Sunrise Asset Management LLC) has reserved a large quantity of N-numbers.

The paint scheme looks a lot better on an MD-80 in my opinion. I'm not saying that they should create a new livery for the A319s, just maybe tweak it (or let people get used to it).

HB-JZK is its Easyjet Swiss registration which it has carried since June 2005 (before that it was G-EZEX with Easyjet). Allegiant are, apparently, going to get 10 ex-Easy A319s, these could be currently G- or HB- or a mixture of the two (most likely answer). I am certain it will be receiving a US registration at the appropriate time. The photo shows it during re-painting at SEN, hence the bits missing (and why it is still carrying the HB- registration).

Jet2's 737s have a very similar livery to that of Allegiant.

On the A319 I do however agree that the tail section doesn't look right, the front however I don't think looks that bad.

Knowing the Arbii are coming online, can we DARE hope of LAS service coming/returning to some East Coast stations?

BTW - the paint scheme looks just fine to me. No better or worse than on the MDs IMO.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the A319s used on longer routes that the MD-80 either doesn't have the range for or can't fly profitably. The fuel efficiency of the Airbus over the MD will open up many new route options for them.

I do love Allegiant's colours and think they look really good on the MD-80s:
