Easyjet To Operate LIN - FCO

A competitor for Alitalia on the lucrative Milan Linate - Rome Fiumicino route. 5 flights a day from early 2013 :

This was long overdue. I never understood why the Italian anti-competition authority allowed Alitalia and AirOne to merge without providing LIN (-FCO) slots to other carriers.

Congratulations to easyJet to be able to provide healthy competition. 5 flights a day seems nice, still not much compared to AZ's 31 daily flights but it's a start!

Is LIN-FCO more lucrative than LIN-CIA? And if it's so, Shouldn't U2 fly that route instead of LIN-FCO?
I'm not on CM's payroll.
