- Employees will have the option to transfer to other stations.
- Lay off all non union employees.
- 15 flights daily, 350 employees, will increase flights to 18 in November (high season)but decrease employees to 250 until closure of local operations.
- The lease of all ATR flying locally will end by March 2013
- Jet Blue, Seaborn, Cape Air, Silver Wings and Virgen Gorda still serving the region from SJU, but the government looking for additional players.

I thought they were just going to replace the ATRs ith ERJs? I guess they decided against it.

Sad day...the ATR was always good-looking in AE colors. Now it's disheartening to see 10-15 sitting here on the ramp at MYR with all the Dornier Jets that have been "awaiting a new owner" for years. I've only seen 1 or 2 [AE ATRs] actually leave in the past year.

AA doesn't fly SJU-CUR.

AA will no longer serve the following destinations:

- EIS
- PTP
- DOM
- FDF
- SVD

PTP and FDF could be served from MIA, but not the rest, as they have a short runway.

The other destinations that are flown from SJU and will still still be served from MIA are: SDQ, STI, PUJ, STT, STX, SKB and ANU. Apart from that, I suppose that SJU-CCS will continue, as it's a mainline flight.

Boy, it's sad to see things fold up there. I remember going on vacation in SJU and, among other things, admiring the mix of ATRs and heavies you'd see spotting there. I also remember thinking AE out of SJU would be a dream job as a kid.

AA down to 15 flights a day at SJU is something that seems impossible seeing that hub buzzing even a few years ago. Then again, I never thought I'd see one of these at SJU:

American is working to get a third party airline to operate for them, either under American Eagle or a codeshare. It's supposedly in advance talks with Seabourne.

Did a little research on Seaborne seems like they have a fleet of DHC Twin Otters, if they were to fly under the American Eagle or as Seaborne would they be leasing bigger planes?

Hmmm ...

Just to add to the "hmmmm", the President of Seaborne, Gary Foss, is a former AE-vp.
