This is cool. I have heard Salalah's a really nice city. Many people take vacations there. This will make it easy for people.

Certainly Salalah is a popular destination for Gulf nationals, but I bet QR is also targeting foreign workers in the city and locals to connect them 1-stop with other QR destinations. This is pretty much what QR/FZ/G9/TK do from secondary cities in KSA (Taif, Gassim, Abha...)

Oman has been pushing for tourism and uses WY to do so, unlike MEB3 (EK/EY/QR) where they aim for market shares primarily.

Besides KHS and SLL, are they planning any more domestic routes? I know they're building a new airport in Duqm.

Is there any special reason why the aircraft is sitting for almost 9 hours at the airport?

Seriously the timings of the flight is beyond miserable. Who would want to arrive at a leisure destination in the middle of the night and depart so early in the morning!

I would MUCH rather have Qatar Airways fly to SSH, which is the best tourism destination in the Middle East!

Khasab on the Musandam peninsula. I heard that is a beautiful area - the Norway of the Middle East!

Anyone know when that airport will open?
