Pedestrians On Runway Force Two Late Go Arounds

Fri Nov 16, 2012 11:59 am

It is really amazing how reckless for their own life some people can be.
According to Brazil's ANAC, the pedestrians, one of them being the GOVERNOR of Brazil's state Ceara, had landed on a private jet a few minutes earlier. After the aircraft had stopped on the apron they disembarked on their own and ( being under time pressure to join a ceremony at the military apron on the other side of the runway ) walked happily across the runway, with a total disregard about safety.

Two different flights were forced to perform Go Around due to the "brilliant move" of the Governor and his friend.

Well, thank god an incident was prevented. Might not have ended so well for the pedestrians, I would not like to see a contest between a landing 737 or A320 vs a human!

Quoting Gonzalo (Thread starter):

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Some of those guys have an annoying sense of entitlement.
