This is the dumbest thing ever, if check in and security aren't enough of a circus already. Definitely not aviation forum worthy.

I think its a great idea, puts travelers in a better mood, having a little fun, I wish the airport I worked at did something like this, people come to the airport ready for a fight......

I disagree. These bits of humour and colour are quite enjoyable.

I'd say they should do one at LGA to bring spirits up, but thenagain, there's not enough room and the pissed off New Yorkers probably don't want any more interruptions.   Personally, I think these kinds of things make traveling more fun!

Lets see how everyone on here likes a flash mob at an airport when they are rushing to catch a flight and everyone is watching these idiots, including employees. Anyways enough of the flash mob rant, I believe that something like this is what a real flash mob should be like.

A flash mob at an airport would REALLY piss me off. Most of the VFR traffic (I am a frequent leisure traveler myself) would become utterly confused, and not know what it was. Furthermore, I would bet TSA would have a field day with it.

Delay city!!!

NO DICE!

Thats stupid anyway, always allow yourself plenty of time. I am always 2 hours before at an airport, nice and relaxed, and plenty of time to go spotting , drink, eat, etc.

What about the regular traveler who is not planning to be disrupted. How is that stupid? There are more people who do not travel often than those of us who do.

Obviously, it goes to show that you don't know what a flash mob is because the video you provided is was not a flash mob.    It was a tribute to WWII vets.

Then ignore it. Don't pay attention to it. Move on to somewhere else. No one is forcing you to watch.

Those who participate in flash mobs are not actually disrupting travelers or anyone. These are harmless acts. They are not forcing anyone to participate. Flash mobs are planned in advanced, especially the DEN one was.

Are you serious?!    The TSA wouldn't care...and they don't.

I personally allow myself 1:45 before my flight to avoid any delays as well.

Flash mobs are usually in the center of the area, so just navigate yourself around them. Yes, you will have to push through some onlookers, but that's not a biggie.

Also, what do you mean VFR travelers will get confused if there's a flash mob? Flash mobs exist all over the world, so it's not like they're from a remote third-world country. Also, it sounds like you're implying that people who are traveling for leisure are dumb and unknowledgable.

Overall, we get it. You don't like flash mobs and you don't like being disrupted. Just please be tolerant of those who feel differently.

My point exactly. I know...as you so eloquently described....."the video I provided is was not a flash mob" I was stating that a group of people should gather for a cause instead of some pointless activity.

Not to mention that flash mobs have been used for more than just entertainment and spur of the moment fun, just google about the thefts and damage they have caused when performed by irresponsible people. So when we are going into an airport, and people are going through security and checking in, the first thing we would want is a HUGE DISTRACTION for not only the people in line but also the security personnel. Right? We all know how attentive the TSA is in the first place. Like in EWR when they allowed someone to walk right past them at an exit without anything going on, I would love to see that worker get distracted, I could finally achieve my goal on leading an elephant down terminal C. But hey, lets forgo national security because a bunch a morons want to dance and sing around. I guess its a take one to know one kind of deal.
