Glad to hear some of the comments on this thread about things getting better and fleet coming along. From monitoring the UA
fleet changes, I see a quickening in the pace of updates and upgrades. It's kind of like watching a long download of numerous files on your computer - the progress line moves slowly at first, but as some files are downloaded, the line moves faster.
On the sUA side
Airbus fleets are almost all painted - Just 7 more 319s and 3 more 320s to go.
752 are almost all painted - four left, but doubt they will be painted as they are on the list for fleet removal.
752 Interior Refresh ongoing - not sure of the extent of this program yet, but 3 to 8 units are done - there was a list going around showing 17 752s going into fleet retirement in 2012/2013 - replaced by new 739ERs
752s will get new ps configuration soon.
772 Paint has restarted - six left - should be completed in two months unless a second paint line is added at VCV
when a 752 exits, which could mean completion by the end of the year.
772 IPTE moving forward at a consistent pace - five 772ERs left (three 772As rumored to become Hawaiian aircraft)
Airbus WiFi underway.
Airbus bins well underway - not sure which aircraft are completed
763ER 2 Class conversion well underway - 8 completed, three in HKG
and 3 left. These aircraft are crucial to new and/or improved international flying. Hopefully 3 Class aircraft will get paint as 14 of 21 are still in UA
On the sCO side
Winston Salem (INT
) now has 2 mod lines for DTV installation on the 738 and 739 fleet.
764ER Lie Flats almost done - one in mod and one to go into mod. Rumored 4 Hawaiian configured units will get same Lie Flat mod and be replaced on Hawaiian flying with sUA 772A aircraft.
788s starting to be delivered (United aircraft, but ordered by sCO)
762s will be gone within a few months - five still in service
753s getting logical updates - ETOPS units all have E+ and overhead TVs for Hawaiian flying - non-ETOPS units getting E+ & DTV
735s going away quickly - 11 left and being replaced by new delivery 739ERs
E+ almost complete on sCO fleet.
Completed: 752, 772, 73G
Partial: 764ER (11 of 16), 739 (48 of 61), 738 (91 of 122) , 753 (15 of 21)
