Aero Sur Stored Aircraft

Mon Nov 26, 2012 7:35 pm

I flew into Marana Pinal Airpark (MZJ) VFR last month and noticed the "Sharko" 767-200 parked there. Additionally I saw a plain 747-400 with a solid blue tail and the name Aero Sur on the fuselage. (Although I don't see any pictures of that one on Airliners.net...)

So, with two aircraft from their fleet parked at MZJ, where are the rest? I'm particularily interested in the 747-400 Bull.

Thanks!

I'd love to find out where the older ones are at, specifically their antique fleet.

I remember seeing their 762 in MIA in April . Looked real nice in person . As far as the 744,I think it went back to VS on lease.

The 744 is already back to VS and wears their new colors. The aircraft in MZJ should be the 743.

The 747 in MZJ had winglets though. Did their 743 have that added as an option?

I saw the 762 in MIA about 18 months ago parked on the remote NE ramp. It was in standard colors and my friend at airport ops told me that that particular aircraft was re-poed.

The blue tailed 744 could the ex-AR 744 that AeruSur was going to get after returnig the Virgin Atlantic one. AeroSur sadly is history so the blue tailed 744 is waiting for its next paint job.
