Boeing is sending up ZA289 on another test flight today. I wonder if this one can be delivered by the end of next week?

B-1 was done on 11/21/12.

ZA183 just copied clearance to Moses Lake for their B-1 flgiht test. Hopefully they'll be on the move and that'll be Boeing's 6 787 B-1 in one week.

Looking at teh Everett web cam, it seems that there is some clearing tothe north of the airfield, ceilings are about 2200 ft so abovethe minimums needed for a B-1 flight.

Five a month isn't too bad; what is the combined total of production from both sites, Seattle and Charleston? How long does Boeing expect it to take before both sites reach optimum/maximum production?

4 from Everett and 1 from Charleston.

Still on track for 10 by the end of next year - I believe they're planning 7 a month from Everett (main + surge) and 3 a month from Charleston.

The above figures would not include what they can run through EMC as they work on the existing stock.

Currently Everett is at 4/month and Charleston is at 1/month.

It is to go up to 7/month by middle of next year but I don't know the split. I am willing to bet that by mid-lae summer Everett will be at 5/month and Charleston will be at 2/month.

Thanks PHX787... I was hoping the LA (L/N 80) aircraft would be delivered by now... but here is the updated list...I have taken some liberties in guessing December deliveries. For example, the LO #2 (L/N 78) I show as January since someone had stated LOT isn't expecting it until then...this could be ready this month. I was surprised that for UA, L/N 52 flew before L/N 45, so I switched those and others around to reflect their apparent progress based on their first flights...

As always, thank you to All Things 787 (NYC777) and others for the information that is summarized here. For more specific information on the aircraft in production, I recommend going to http://nyc787.blogspot.com/

ZA460 spent about 2 weeks in VCV for the IFE work so if anymore '87s head there that's the max time that they would spend there.

Ironic, Boeing can deliver more 787s than customers will take:

AI - Want them but can't afford them
CZ and HU - Want them but China won't let them have them yet
QR - Will only take one at time for IFE installation
LO - Looks like one will be ready soon but they are expecting it in January and may not want it early
UA - Was only expecting 5 this year and may not want the 6th early

If the projection was 35-42 787s this year (source: NYC777), it seems like there may have been a chance they could have hit 53!

UAL has said in SEC filings that they are expecting to take delivery of 5 787s by the end of the year. They have 3 so far and I expect two more delivered by the end of the month and one more in January.

Now that it's getting time for customers to lay out the big cash, they might not want to rush into things. It's refreshing to see that fewer holdups are caused by Boeing...but it could all come to a crashing halt if the SPEEA strike happens.

Quote:
Boeing’s engineering union has begun making detailed preparations for a strike that could come as soon as February, the executive director of the union said Friday.

“I think there is a very high chance of a strike,” said Ray Goforth, executive director of the Society of Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA).

Can't say for sure, but this way everything can be completed except the money changing hands and all of the LOT personnel can go home for the holidays and not be here flying between Xmas and New Years. This way they just show up on January 3rd, pay the $$$$, get the keys and take to the sky.

I was listening to the ATC for BOE271 this morning as it left on the test flight. It wasn't a LOT crew at the controls. It was a Boeing crew.

During a customer flight the Boeing captain sitting in the right seat makes all of the radio calls so I don't understand how you determined it was not a customer flight -- please explain. Also, some customer flights are manned by an all Boeing crew.

UAL ZA285 (45) scheduled for its B-1 again today if the wx doesn't keep them on the ground again.

That frame is snakebit. By my count this is the fourth attempt at a B-1, and it doesn't look any more promising today than it has the last three times they tried.

Wx is good to go right now, they need to get airborne.

I assume that you mean ZA285?

Aside from the AI, HU and CZ aircraft, this may be one of the last change and incorporation planes for a while. This and four other aircraft should be delivered in the next few weeks leaving only new builds ready to deliver.
