They (Continental) have announced their plans to serve 30 or more trans-Atlantic routes in the next four to five years.
Recently they had a press release detailing their Asian growth strategy,Greg Brenneman basically stated that they would add one Asian route from EWR each year.Hong Kong starts in March or April, the next route after that should be EWR-KIX which they already have the authority. The others mentioned were Seoul,Taipei, and possibly Shanghai,Bangkok, and Singapore.
I would expect some more orders for 777s real soon, right now they have 18 or 20 777s in house or on order,24 767-400s three of which they now have and 10 767-200s(which I suspect will be increased to about 15).Also there's a possible upcoming order for a longer range 757-200 (757-200ERX) to reach secondary Central European cities like Basel or Oslo
Domestic wise they recently placed an order for 15 757-300s the first of which should arrive by the fourth quarter of '01,these would be used on routes such as EWR-MCO,FLL,TPA,PBI,LAS,LAX,SFO and IAH.Thus freeing up 757-200s already on those routes to replace 737-800s on other routes.
Also starting in '01 they will begin taking delivery of the first of 15 737-900s(the largest 737 to date),the 737-900s and 757-300s will replace 757-200s,which then will replace 737-800s,which will then replace M80s.Thus adding to capacity at EWR without having to add many more flights.
