SP-LRA, operating LO523, left WAW a bit late and just made a go-around/flyby at PRG according to Flighradar24 - most likely part of the show.

Hello,

Just got to my hotel in Prague following the flight...what can I say? It was wonderful! The interior is excellent and to a very high standard. Economy had excellent leg room, quality noise cancelling headsets and overall great comfort. Premium Economy also looked great as did Business. The crew where extremely accommodating with all us enthusiasts all over the cabin taking pictures, videos and exploring throuout boarding, inflight and after landing. We even had the flightdeck available to visit. Departure was slightly late due to de-icing and our approach was changed due to weather (although maybe we did do a fly past?). On arrival there was a gate party along we many, many spotters lining the approach path and runway. Airport staff from all departments also turned out in their masses to greet the 787. Overall, a wonderful experience and a great day for Polish and European aviation along with an historic milestone for LOT.

Thanks

Good that's the legroom is excellent. But how did you find sideways space when seated 3-3-3 ? Was Y class fully booked ?

On a related note, when will LO's 787 hit the JFK-WAW and ORD-WAW routes?

If it's soon, particularly for ORD, I might want to connect in WAW if going to Europe over LHR/CDG/FRA just so I can try a Dreamliner.

WAW-ORD starts mid-January. Let's hope LO survives long enough to receive all its 787s; the CEO, who was on the job for just two years, was ousted yesterday due to LO ' s continuing losses.

I just arrived in Munich after a wonderful flight on the Dreamliner, it's a very impressive aircraft and the crew were excellent. I was sat in the rear economy section and there was plenty of space, probably the most spacious economy cabin I've ever experienced, it's also incredibly quiet with it almost being silent in some parts of the cruise. I actually found this mornings E195 much louder! It was interesting to see enthusiasts and ordinary passengers mixing and I echo ThomasCook in saying the crew were very accommodating to everyone roaming around the cabin and taking photos, I never once saw them stop smiling.

It was nice to test out the entertainment system, seems resonable enough with new TV shows and movies. The personal screens are very sensitive though and the slightest knock seems to turn them off, a simple press of the power button brings it back immediately but it happened more than once to a few people during the short flight. Anyone thinking of flying the 787 with LOT should note that row 27 has no window and just a blank wall, there's no window at the emergency exit row 20 either so avoid those.

Towards the end of the flight the Captain apologised to passengers towards the front for the increased noise, apparently a faulty air seal that Boeing engineers were working on. Didn't have any problem where I was sitting though!

Congratulations LOT / Boeing!

It seems loss-making LOT will receive a gov handout provided it cuts costs and reduces staff numbers:

Phew! Glad I reserved 25A on my 787 joyride, by now all the window seats seem to be taken - would have been a shame to be stuck in a windowless seat.

Thanks much!

I found the cabin to be very spacious with a lot of headroom and aisles seemed in line with other aircraft including larger aircraft I work on. I'd say Y was around 80-85% full with W and J being 100% full. Here is a picture;

I did just fly JFK-WAW to meet up with the 787 to MUC. However, I will overnight in MUC then fly SQ to MAN and SK to ARN. Overnight at the jumbo hostel at ARN. Then I do SK ARN-BRU (737-600), SK BRU-OSL, SK OSL-FRA and overnight in FRA. Finally I will do SQ FRA-JFK on the A380. For me I will get my first 787, A380, 737-600, first LO, SK, and SQ flights on this trip. How's that for a.nut crazy?

LOL, that always amuses me. Huge numbers of people have interests on which they spend a lot of time and money, yet somehow it's weird when you spend them on flying as opposed to game or concert tickets.

...and she's back out of service. On Sunday, LO375 (WAW-MUC) was operated by a 734 instead of SP-LRA, reason given: computer problems. My source is a friend who flew MUC-WAW-MUC - the inbound to WAW was operated by the 787.

Fingers crossed!

This is to confirm. According to LOT's Facebook page, Sunday B787 flights WAW-MUC-WAW were operated by B734.

The passengers initially boarded the 787, began taxiing, then returned to the gate.

The official cause given by LOT at this time is unforeseen circumstances.

As an aside, Friday's PRG-WAW flight was operated at a low altitude, around FL150 due to a faulty door seals/gasket. Actually someone in this thread mentioned the pilot apologizing for noise in the forward cabin.

Let's see whether 7:35 am flight WAW-VIE on Monday will resume 787 tour. Fingers crossed.

It's too bad LOT stopped serving EWR (still don't understand why since EWR is a Star Alliance - well, UA - hub). I would have liked to have seen a 787 that isn't UA at EWR some day.

Hi folks,

I have been on the LO 787 flight on Friday from Warsaw to Munich. As I am Star Gold I got Upgraded to Business Class. The Seat is very comfotable, just to short for me when flat (I am 1,92cm/6'4''). I can not lay down
The plane is very nice, nice colors, quite and a big big improvement over every 767 flying around with very friendly crew.

On the way back the plane got downgraded to a 21 year old 737-400 with a 3 hour delay. Even though MUC has a curfew starting at 11pm we departed at 12:17am (insted of 9:25pm) to Warsaw. The crew was neither friendly and did not apologize for the plance change nor the delay.

I am not suprised that LOT is at the edge of bancrupcy with the service they offer on the old 737/767's .
Hopefully with the new Dreamliners and maybe new Eurofleet they will enhance their service and "friendlyness" to become a sucessful niche player.

Trip Report of the 787 follows.
