Do the Ravens and MY BELOVED 49ers have their own jet, or do they charter airlines?

I know Delta flies the Patriots, but they're OUT (hehe)

Nearly all SWA BWI-MSY flights the Friday-Monday of that weekend are sold out.

Also, JetBlue just tweeted they are adding a special route between Baltimore and New Orleans Feb 1st & 4th.

The 49ers use SJC for their DL charter. So there could be adds for entourage and fans from SJC as well. Maybe even OAK.

Wow, I sure wish that US would bring back the PHX-MSY route that HP abruptly discontinued during Katrina. US seem to have forgotten about it when they merged with HP.

Plenty of equipment upgauges to the hubs. I'm talking about the day after the game here unless mentioned otherwise.

DL: MSY-ATL is all 763's. There are also 763's to DTW, JFK, and LAX. More flights added to MSP, SLC, and an A320 to CVG.

UA: Extra DEN/IAH/EWR/LAX/SFO flights, mostly with 739's, but I did see a 763 operating IAH-MSY-EWR. Also some 757's in there including a MSY-LAX 753.

US: All A321's to CLT, plus extra mainline capacity to DCA and PHL, in addition to what was mentioned above.

F9: 2nd DEN flight for the Super Bowl weekend with one being an A320.

B6: 4th JFK flight added plus the BWI service mentioned above

AC: 2nd YYZ flight added with a CRA.

That's pretty much all I can find so far.

Is that one of the all-F NBA charter configurations? Or is coach simply sold out?

Edit:
Just looked it up to find out. It IS one of the all-F 319s, and you can get a one-way ticket for $985, which seems like a bargain for a first-class SuperBowl special.

Yes, that would be fun for an airline geek to fly. I suppose there is no way to book in any other cos and end up with V (upgraded Y to F). I wonder how DL would handle a >=Gold Medallion who bought into Y, got upgraded into V on a different flight and then did a same day confirm switch to this aircraft...assuming seats were available.

Judging from the attention the game got aboard UA654 last night -- flying LAX-IAD -- there will probably also be contingents from the Washington DC catchment in New Orleans.

The Captain of UA654 was following the score and wrote it down each quarter and then slipped under the cockpit door. One of the FAs ran the score up the aisle to those with raised hands so as to no act as 'spoiler' to anyone recording the game at home.

They use SJC since their facility is in Santa Clara about 5 miles from the airport. Shouldn't warrant additional flights from SJC.

As of 2:30pm, *all* nonstop WN MSY-BWI flights on Monday February 4th are sold out in all classes of service.

Over at USAirways *all* nonstop MSY-DCA flights for the same date are now at $1150.50 one-way.
In addition, two of the four E175s are now replaced with 319s.

United's two nonstop MSY-IAD 320s for that date appear to be sold out. But they're now marketing an MSY-PHL-IAD code share (with USAirways) for $1650.54 one-way

Things are changing fast.

WN's MSY-SJC connects are now sold out.

WN's MSY-OAK connects are now sold out

The 49ers training facility and probably many player's homes are near SJC. The training facility is about 15 minutes from SJC driving, and final approach onto the 12s at SJC brings you right over the facility. The facility is, by contrast, 40 minutes from the more crowded and more expensive SFO.

Any upgauges and frequency adds will be more likely into SFO. SJC or OAK might see a few, but SFO is the largest airport in the metro area.

UA economy class MSY-SFO the day after is no longer available nonstop. UA 368, 1018, and 1271 appear on the timetable. My search for MSY-SFO area the day after is giving the cheapest option as $955, MSY-LAX-SFO. MSY-IAD has no remaining nonstop seats for purchase. Cheapest fare is $1655, MSY-PHL-IAD. Not fun. F is $2,395.

IIRC (I read this on another site and checked it out myself on Delta.com) the day after the super bowl, DL has two MSY-LGA flights as well as a MSY-LAX flight on their charter-configured A319s. 54 F seats only, no Y at all. (Bookable on Delta.com if any of you are interested.) I wonder why they don't send one to SFO though, unless it's repositioning I think that would be a busier route than to LAX that particular day.

One seat left on the all-F 319s to LGA. 1 seat. For $1,565.
Quick Question-Though the correct seat map is viewable if one tries to book a flight with these 319s, the seat map is not available on Delta's aircraft page and not listed on the Wikipedia Delta Fleet page. Why?

Along with all the airline flights, other charter companies and private jets will be filled to the brim. It would be pretty cool to see a picture of the MSY and NEW ramps the day of or before the Super Bowl.

CBS exec/non-prodcution ppl and NFL offices express no doubt....along with other media/corp. Anyone working the game heads down there a few days from now; some there already. The CBS Sports crews who work the NFL that I've flown next to are always up in F...sometimes a few at a time; though I never snagged a view to see if it was bought/contracted or upgraded inventory.

Both teams normally fly the 763 so would assume the same, the Saints stayed with their 763 to MIA.

I got the Sunday arrival info. off WWLTV last night. I too thought this to be unusual, have to double check this as they could be mistaken.

Last year in the playoffs unfortunately the Saints stayed with their 757. I seem to remember a few other occasions where teams that usually used 757 stayed with the 757 in the post season, however IDK about Superbowl charters. Normally the teams use larger equipment for the Superbowl specifically, but my luck lately 2 757's would not surprise me, although it would seem highly unlikely.

What I did love to see was when the Saints returned from MIA on a DL 772.
Maybe we will get luck and see a DL744 back here, have not had one from DL since the Sugarbowl in 2012,
Sorry to have missed UA 744 from this years Sugarbowl, but then leaving at night does no good for spotting!!

This is what really sucks about not working at MSY anymore

You know I was wrong about the Monday, the Patriots did arrive in Indy last year on the Sunday, the Giants arrived on Monday. When the Saints went, both teams arrived on Monday but at staggered times so the media crews could cover each arrival.

The teams might step up (maybe SFO to a 330) but I don't know if family rides on these, think the coaches want to keep things as normal as possible.

49er's have been flying 763's all season...no reason to downgrade for the big game. Maybe something bigger for the families?

I heard that the families and invited guests for the 49ers are being flown by the 49ers from SFO-MSY-SFO on either 2 DL 747's or 1 747 and 1 A330 sometime this week and return the day after the super bowl.

These fares are breathtaking!!   Some people DO love their football.
Just accept that some days, you're the pigeon, and other days the statue

The 747 that brought the 49ers in is ferrying back to SFO,

Wonder why UA only has one plane from SFO-MSY on FRIDAY and Saturday?

CLE-MSY B738 on Saturday.

Three flights from MSY to LAX on the 4th. 757-300, 739, and A320

Looks like the Ravens' 764, the 49ers' 744, and the 49ers' 333 all ferried to AEX, probably just to wait out the weekend until it's time to take all those people back home. The Ravens' 764 ferried back to ATL and the 49ers' 319 ferried back to DEN (presumably for a revenue leg to MSP/DTW).

The 319 was a VIP for the NBA, so probably going back to that.

The 333 and 744 left out today on military charters for Ft Polk,

Anyone getting any photos of all the extra movements at MSY this weekend?
Looking at DL's schedules for Monday, there should be at least 3 767s on the ground tonight.

Extraordinary.

All this for the world's fourth most-viewed sporting event of the day, with viewing figures of 110 million in the USA and 20 million in the rest of the world dwarfed by 2 soccer matches from England and also narrowly beaten by the South Africa v Pakistan cricket match from Johannesburg, which was viewed by 130 million people on the subcontinent alone.
