Is it just me or is 137 pax the capacity for flight 513?

Good to see DEN has special branded airstairs. Though they could always use the BUF solution: an L1 loader  . It would be so funny to see people debarking on a runway using a luggage belt.

Ok this one says the plane was full. I'm right! Apparently, a fire warning light went off, though there were no fires.
Possibly a preventative given the problems certain other Boeings have been having?

I was at DEN dropping of my parents and think I saw this happening. I was going to the Conoco at Pena Blvd at around 3.40pm and saw it accelerate on the runway next parallel to Pena (going west bound) then it never took off. Was this the one I saw? I hadn't seen the first part of the roll so couldn't be sure it wasn't a plane landing, however I think that they don't land on that runway in a westerly direction. Sorry for the noobiness.

Aircraft land/takeoff into the wind at all times. RWY 25 is the occasional landing runway used at DEN but in my 5 years working on the ramp, I find it rarely used, usually they use 26 if landing on a west heading. But I know what you mean, I've driven down the road parallel to 25 and always find myself watching whatever takeoff! Oh and don't worry about the "noobiness," everyone has to start somewhere!

Yes, WN 737-700 hold's 137 paxs, unless its one of their NEWer birds with the new seats, which were smaller and allowed an additional row of seating. Still haven't noticed if their smaller seats than before, cause no matter who I fly, I'm always in a tight fit at 6'0.

Could be, but if the world actually worked this fast, things would really be better than they are!!! (Insert  )

When DEN has the stupid days where the west wind is ridiculous that's the only time they land on 25. So what twice a year haha?

Haha, yeah I hear ya. I've worked on B Concourse for 2 years, now on C, and actually recently a little of A Concourse as well. In my experience, the damn wind is always the worst from the NORTH. The winter is always the worst. It is rare, but I have seen aircraft on final go over the solar panels and roads to land on RWY 25. Seems like a long taxi ride to me thou.

Being native to CO I gotta say, when don't we have those stupid days!!! But you can't beat over 300 days of sunshine a year!

Seat guru does not have a map of the new Evolve interior up which holds 143. I don't have an exact number, but for sure more than half of the 73G's have been retrofitted with the new interior. As for Flight 513, I don't know what the capacity of the plane operating that particular flight was.

Maybe the tires were preheated by fast taxiing before takeoff?

The week before Thanksgiving I flew WN MDW - EWR - MDW. On the outbound flight the plane was a series 700 with 137 seats, but on the return it had 143 seats. The difference WAS readily apparent. I feel for you at 6'0 feeling a tight squeeze; I'm 6'2" and the 137 seaters never bothered me, but the new seating arrangement does. I might as well have flown AA or UA because the joy of having legroom was pretty much gone!

On the automobile side I've been told by more than one mech DEN higher altitude (lighter air) in combination with cold weather can cause sensors and fuel filters to act squirrely. It appears the same can be said for aviation.

Out of curiosity does DEN use a different fuel blend or a winter blend with additional additives to compensate for the lighter air.

Looks like a -300 based on those photos. That means 137 seats. Not sure if that many people were on board or if the media simply just took the max seat count.

Yep. Our low grade of gas is 85 octane.

I've had the pleasure twice in the past year of watching RWY25 arrivals when I've been out spotting. The best place to park is in the Signature FBO parking lot in the northwest corner. Seeing a UA 777 up close and overhead is a pretty sight at DEN with it's limited spotting locations.

You're not kidding on the limited spotting! I'm SSOO disappointed DEN doesn't have anywhere to spot. Would love to go spotting for the first time, but can't go anywhere else but DEN right now!

When they are using the 16's try going north of the field to spot, 120th.

Yeah, in the 4 years that I have flown in and out of Denver, I think I have landed 25 maybe twice. Once was for winds and wind shear, and the other was for thunderstorms. Its a pretty rare event when it happens though!

The brakes get quite warm after an RTO, especially if it is at or near V1. The tires probably blew because the safety fuses melted...there is a metal plug made of an alloy with a low melting point (similar to the plugs used in fire sprinklers in buildings) in the rims on an airliner.

If you type in the Airline and flight number with the date of the flight, you get the configuration of the flight. Also, there is this website:

It's worth noting (although most here probably know this) that aircraft tires are designed to deflate in a controlled manner when exposed to heat.

Although I did see a tire actually blow on landing once. You think blowing a tire in your car is an event? Whew boy.

For sure a -300 as the flap track fairings (canoes) are gray. -700s are red.

This is the first time I have seen seatexpert, thank you for that! Looks better than seat guru to be honest. They still do not have a proper seat map for the Evolve interior, though.

For seatguru, they are a bit behind the times. There is no 737-800 seat map for WN, and they still do not have a 143 seat -700 map up. So, even if you type in your flight number the seat map that comes up may not be correct until seat guru gets their maps up to date.
