Emirates Cargo Launch London Freighter Service

Sun Jan 27, 2013 12:24 am

According to EK schedules they are flying 777F DXB-LHR seems to be once weekly, they have also resumed Djibouti this time with 777F previously was dropped when A310F were phased out.

Hanoi has been suspended, there are some inconsistencies in route map and schedules, so one has to check all sources map, PDF and live online, the revised map now shows Campinas as a seprate destination not as Sao Paulo, but it still carries some suspended ones like Bagram, Lahore, Lome, while not marking those served whicl include Moscow, Dhaka, Harare.

They are also said to be launching Chittagong from summer.

Just wondering why is EK using LHR? It doesn't seem to be a choice preference for other freight operators.

There are some other Carriers operating full freighters to LHR: SQ, KE, CX IIRC...

They need more cargo capacity as the A380 restricts the amount of cargo they can move compared to the B777.

I have heard there is the possibility of another freighter but this would operate from another airport in London.

Only because it's so restricted. However, Saturday evening is LHR's quietest time and there are far more slots available.

Emirates Cargo already have a presence at LGW supporting three daily B77Ws to DXB, I am assuming that's what you mean?

How come EK flies weekly to London while QR and TK at least twice weekly to BUD? Is BUD sort of a cheap conveniently located EU distribution center, air+trucks?

CX B744F Sun Mon Thu Fri
RJ A310F Sat
EK B77F Sat

and daily BCS flying on behalf of BA / DHL. Compare that with AMS....
