That's perfect!!! Did you happen to look around for familiar faces on the monitor?

Looks photo-shopped to me. Maybe I miss the joke...not of the Sponge Bob generation.

By the way, are air disaster movies still restricted from in-flight entertainment? Used to be.

Nope. I watched Mayday on my WestJet flight 2 years ago.

LOL this is priceless. I guess the guy is okay with watching it on a plane.

I don't get what you're saying. While a great show (I'll admit it, I do still occassionally watch the sponge   )
, Spongebob has nothing to do with this. The irony is that he is watching an air disaster movie on a plane. Maybe I'm missing what you're saying.

Its photo-shopped. Unless you're looking directly at the screen, the screen image is not view-able at this angle. And no-way would they have this movie as part of IFE.

Regardless, photo-shopped or not it is simply priceless as mentioned by mesaflyguy!! Love that humor.

Eh? I guess I must have very special vision because I have certainly been able to view at that angle...but I guess you might be able to tell it's a shop from the pixels.

But for those of the Spongebob generation...It is showing on the screen in the seat in front! (Or did everyone see that?)

Is this from a Soap? It seems like the quality is the type that Soaps have.

Probably a stupid question.

Yes, I thought there was more to it. Like that particular Sponge Bob episode in ironic juxtapostion with the "Airport 75" movie reference.

With the caption "Not every one will get the joke" I was expecting there to be some sort of subtle humor. Of course we all get it.

Clever would have been an "Airport 79" screen shot. Much better.

Is that one of the Airport films?

The photo itself looks like it was taken from an ad for IFE.
The plural of Airbus is Airbuses. Airbii is not a word.
There is no 787-800, nor 787-900 or 747-800. It's 787-8, 787-9, and 747-8.
A321neoLR is also unnecessary. It's simply A321LR.
Airplanes don't have isles, they have aisles.

Specially when the pax is swipping his credit card inthe middle of the movie......take a closer look to his right hand.

This reminds me of the bit in Airplane! where Randy the flight attendant(!) tells the worried passengers to sit back, relax and enjoy the in-flight movie, which it turns out features a fiery plane crash... (which reminds me of every other Airplane! scene/quote, which is all I'll be thinking about the rest of the work day...)

Not surprised... A friend of mine flew WestJet YVR-LAS on 9/11 a few years ago, and their Live TV was showing WTC footage on a 'memorial' program the whole way. Coincidental, or slightly creepy/inappropriate, depending on how you look at it.

I think CO played Snakes on a Plane on the pop down screens a few years back.

Yes, it's Airport 75 in the scene when she is flying the airplane and the other young flight attendant brings her coffee.

Hope I didn't spoil the movie for you. I've seen some ratings that call Airport 75 one of the 50 worse movies of all time. I think it's okay. Not as good as Airport 70, but worth watching.

What are those way in the far lower left of the IFE screen? Are my eyes bad, or is that two elves? See what I'm looking at?

The best example of all time was the Jetblue passengers who watched their own emergency landing

This is slightly off-topic but I flew Air-Asia last year from Bangkok to Penang and also Penang to Singapore. I forgot the name of their in-flight magazine but they had articles in this mag on previous aircraft crashes and full detailed reports on the crashes including 'pilot error' crashes. This appeared to be on-going monthly feature in the magazines. It was a little unsettling for me to see these reports in this magazine. Not the best of reading material for the moment.

Of course Westjet uses a "live" system where they are using satellite programming and not simply pre-recorded onboard video, which limits their ability to exclude airline disaster related programming.
