How Long Are The E135's Expected To Fly For UA?

Thu Feb 07, 2013 2:49 pm

Any ideas on the expectations for the E135's to continue flying for United Express?

I greatly appreciate their presence over the SAAB's. But I'm sure the economics are questionable. However, in a city, like mine, the airlines typically command a fare premium even at the "cheap" fares. We start at 23 to 25 cents per mile.

Would suppose that with the new pilot contract there are all sorts of plans being made to realign smaller size cities with capacity/jet size for long term planning.

So again, I'm glad they are here, but I haven't seen a peep about any replacement plans.

According to the 2013 Fleet Plan available on United's website, the system wide fleet of less than 50 seat aircraft was numbered at 32 at year end 2012. It is expected to remain the same YE 2013.

Note this number includes Q200, EMB120, and ERJ135s.

Hope this helps!
