Everybody is correct: Air New Zealand flies FRA-LAX-NAN-AKL twice weekly with a 747-400; I think that the flights depart FRA on Friday and Saturday. On the other days of the week, it is possible to fly from FRA-LAX with Lufthansa (NZ codeshare flight number) and then on to AKL with NZ on their aircraft, but i think that the stopover time in LAX is very long under this scheme. Air New Zealand also has daily B747-400 service from LHR to LAX and continuing to AKL; thats it for NZ in Europe. NZ's service, in all classes, is great; have had wonderful flights with them on these ultra-long-haul routes. The only negative thing I can think of is that the ground time at LAX is spent in a horrible waiting area (even when you fly business, as the business lounge is on the other side of customs) with lots of confusion and an inadequate ground staff.
