TWA's JFK-ANU Service

Mon Oct 23, 2000 1:48 am

I have seen many reports of TWA starting service to Antigua (ANU) from JFK, but I can;t find any concrete info at TWA's website. As the flights are rumored to start Nov. 11, once a week, when is TWA going to announce these flights and post the schedules and make them available for reservation?

Any feedback appreciated

You may want to act quickly. Many of the first three months flights are already sold out and hence are not appearing in availability.

They are accessable via http://www.twa.com

Hello TWA!!!

If there flights are fully booked for the first three months before they even start flying, shouldn't something be telling them to ADD flights???

Al, you sure? I don't see any press announcement regarding Antigua service and ANU hasn't been added to the Route Map. Also I can't seem to find any traces of this JFK-ANU flight on the "Flight Schedules"

You know the dates?

Every Saturday starting November 25. check TWAs website flight schedules. As far as them NOT announcing it and still being fully booked for the first month should tell them something.

Yes I am sure. The JFK-ANU service is a scheduled flight but, majority of the seats are sold thru tour operators. There are many flights in the first three months where the tour operators have already bought ALL the seats. The other few examples of this flight I have found show only a handful of seats (ie 8 or less) available and many of those at full F and Y fares.

Thanks, found it. Terrific timing, unlike that EWR-BQN flight that leaves Puerto Rico at like 4 in the monring!

Anyway, I know (prob. from you Al  ) that TW does this type of risk-shairing on a number of its Carribean services. I think all the EWR flights (to CUN, BQN, and PUJ) and the PLS, POP, CUN service are sold through large agencies.

What does this mean for the airine? By shifting risk to the travel agencies they probably make much less than on a regularly scheduled service because the agencies undoubtedly get the seats for very little. Also, did the agencies have any influence in picking these destinations and their origin airports, like EWR. I can't imagine TW would add flights from EWR on their own. Gracias.

Incidentally, Albert, best wishes on your new endeavor, but the website is completely password protected.

JFK-Anitigua should be announced her shortly along with Boston-Aruba, -Montego Bay, and Punta Cana.

Boston-Los Angeles should also be announced at the same time.
