Which Airlines N Type Want To See In Your Airport?

Mon Oct 23, 2000 7:13 pm

I really want to see DL, UA, AA, and CO coming by B777-200 in Hong Kong Int'l Airport. No more UA B747-400, it's too boring for us!!!!

I dont really care about what kind of a/c they fly (although a 744 would look good) but I would love to see a Lufthansa jet on a daily basis at Sea-Tac. Not only to give us more options to Europe but it would be something different from BA (742) or SAS (763 soon to be 330). An AF 777 would look good as well taking off with Mt. Rainier as a backdrop for the start of a non-stop to Paris.

At ZRH I would definitely love to see one or two more US airlines, above all US Airways with their A333. Perhaps the one or another african carrier with A300 or B767 would also be welcome. And as soon as Qantas gets its A3XX, I would love to see them here at ZRH.

In Helsinki, Air Jamaica A340!

No seriously, any non-European carrier except El Al (already have that) would do, especially with a 777.

Would be nice if SR returned, too. I hear they're good.

In Dortmund, I´d like to see real LH planes, perhaps an A319  or at least the ARJ ...
Speaking of Mannheim, I´d like to see us connected better to the LH network - flights to Hamburg and Berlin-Templehof don´t give us many connexions when the hubs are in FRA and MUC

As long as it's a BAe-146 I don't care what the name of the airline is. The only jet I've seen on "my" airport is a cessna citation. (They are nice too)

Also If they could bring down a 747-400 on a 1500 meter runway, I'd be happy to see that here to. (Come to think of it, I've never seen a 747 in real life. God how depressing.)

At BOS, I would really like to see a US Airways Dornier 328, and MidEXpress 328JET. Also an American 777 or MD-11 on a daily basis would be nice. A United 747-400 or 777. A SABENA MD-11. Any A321! National 757. ALITALIA MD-11. Lufthansa 747-400. And finally, Austrian Airlines A330-200.

My airport (Rochester, New York) features most turboprops, RJ's, and narrowbodies operating these days. Largest commercial a/c is the DC-8-71 operated by Burlington and Emery. Smallest commercial a/c is the Raytheon/ Beechcraft 1900 used by US Airways Express. Also the airport has a wide variety of corporate and private aircraft. The New York Air National Guard bases about 20 helicopters at ROC, and flies in a C-5 every now and then.

I'd like to see the 757 used regularly at ROC; we have lots of 727-200s but no one has made the jump to 757s. Now that JetBlue has arrived, I'm hoping that traffic will rise enough to merit 757s. DL and US are most likely operators in my view.

JetBlue was the first to fly the Airbus A320 series in. US is rumored to be starting them by the end of the year.

I'd like to see the following airlines and a/c at ROC:

AirTran with Boeing 717, a type not used at ROC now.
Southwest with 737-700, also a type not used at ROC now.
And I'd like to see United Parcel Service stop driving our cargo to BUF and SYR (ROC handles more cargo than either of these two airports) and fly in the cargo 757 or 763.

This is a stretch...but I'd like to see MKE become a real international airport, if nothing but for my own convenience. LOL! My choice airlines would be: Aeroflot (763), QANTAS (744  ), British Airways (772) and Air Tahiti Nui (A342).

For my own spotting/photo reasons at SJC: US (which is not a current carrier at SJC) especially B752's, CO B752's, DL B763's. It will be nice when AA starts SJC-CDG in Apr. '01 with B763.

At IAH, I can't wait to see:
CO 739
CO 753
CO 764
CO 762

I'd Like to see the following, but they probably won't happen:
AF 777-200 (instead of A340)
Virgin Atlantic 744
JAL 744 or 777 (when they get them)
Any A330
Any 747X or A3XX!
Any 717

In ALB, I would like to see Northwest, United, & US Airways bring in their new A319s & A320s to replace their noisy aging DC-9s & 737s on some of their routes in and out of this airport.

Even though there is a very low chance of it happening, I'd like to see some low-fare carriers come into Wichita, Kansas such as: Airtran from ATL with a 717-200, Frontier to DEN with a 737-300(Or better yet, an A318 or A319 if they get some, there are currently no Airbus airliners at ICT), and Southwest from MCI, LIT, or anywhere with any plane. Wichita really needs low fares. Flights are very expensive here, and people go to OKC or MCI to flee the high fares.

Here in DUS we could need something like:

- another transatlantic carrier, preferably from my standpoint, DL (should be Skyteam in order to get me my FF miles   ),

- ANA or JAL because of the large Japanese community in the area (no kidding!),

- another low fare carrier like BUZZ (we got those), which offers us cheap airfares to more destinations than just London, e.g. Virgin Express,

- lots of exotic subcharters and charters with even more exotic aircraft types (but that's just my spotter's point of view).

At SAN I would like to see:

-JAL/ANA 777 nonstop to Tokyo
-JAL/ANA/NW 747 one stop to Tokyo (Having to go on those little planes to L.A. to catch a flight bothers a lot of people here)

-An American Airline w/any aircraft to Europe/Asia

-Mexicana A320/757 (Mexicana does not fly here yet).

-ATA 757-300 to Chicago Midway when they get them, or any ATA jet to MDW if not.

-Northwest replacing some A320s with 757s

-AA keeping a 767-200 on the JFK route year-round instead of a 757 (Surprisingly, the 757 has more seats though).

-United 767

-Lufthansa A340

-AA/UA regional jets to LAX

-A few TWA 757s to replace the Md80s/start a JFK route.

-AeroMexico 757

-FedEx Md-11F

-Airborne Express 767-200F

For one simple reason, so I can afford to fly without having to go to DEN.

Airfares out of here are as bad as when I lived in Tucson. You had to drive to PHX to get a decent fair.

Save me Southwest!

I honestly want to see more BA and Virgin planes in the southern California area (not just LA, man!). LAX is too far away for me to get too... what about Orange County? San Diego, perhaps? Burbank? Please?!?

I personally would love to see more variety of air carriers at DFW, especially international ones. Don't get me wrong, I love Delta's new old scheme, and I like seeing their aircraft, and I love seeing AA aircraft, but it just gets boring after a while seeing plane after plane after plane being either DL, AA, AE or ASA. Hopefully, Qantas or Swissair or Air France, and maybe even Alaska, Finnair, Aer Lingus or Lan Chile.

I'd like to see a Cubana plane in LAX. Not as if it will ever happen in the near future but I think it would be cool. I think it'd be cool to see one of those Russian Illyushin or Tupolev jets here. Also I'd like to see an Iberia A-340 here. I think that LAX is the next obvious route (unless they ever start enhancing int'l services from Barcelona.) Also an SAS Airbus long haul would be cool. Besides Madrid I think Copenhagen would be the next best new service. Even if it had to do a Newark or Chicago stop like the El Al flights do in JFK on their services (most of the year) from LAX-TLV.

Too Many Charters!

Tue Oct 24, 2000 11:43 am

Anyone that will fly scheduld service out of ANU. There are tons of charter planes but the chances of getting a seat on one without staing in a local hotel for a week is really slim. I think regular charter companies should get a clue and let passengers book flight only, and make it easy to do so. (I.e. not having to call some obscure travel agency in northern London) I mean, if your going to fly regularly, why fly charter. I though the whole idea of charter is to provide one or more set flights and then be over with it. Take Britannia for example. They have been flying every week at the same time for the last few years. I would imagine it would be quite profitable to get a bigger plane and sell the slack to those who only need the flights. And as for them not being able to fill those flights, I think not. Take for example: BA LON-ANU-LON during the Christmas season, one week round trip: 1000pounds; 1 week roundtrip with one of the charters, plus seven nights in a great hotel: 1000 pound. Something just isn't right here.

@ DTW... would like to see...

Air France! They were rumored to be starting A340 service, but that was almost a year ago this time. We got BA's 777 rotating days with a 742. We can use some more international carriers, but our inter. terminal is full to capacity! No gate space. Oh, and if KLM can put a MD11 or 767 instead of the 747s- that would be a cool sight.

For Zurich, I think I will be better if they have flights from Nagoya probably in ANA. It will be good if a Swissair MD11 flies to Capetown/Johannesburg again. They can also go to Cebu via Singapore. Also the Finnair Moomins flight.
In Toronto, it would be nice if Swissair are coming back, also a SAS B767 YYZ-ARN instead of the AC B767 YYZ-CPH service(it would be nice if they move the CPH service to YUL and introduce the ARN service in YYZ from SAS). It would be wonderful if the Finnair Moomins flies in Toronto. Another that probably never will happen is a Melbourne-Toronto via Guam in their B744.

British Airways will start a daily 777 service to LGW this march, so you're in luck.

I would also like to add a Virgin A340 or 747 to my list of a/c at SAN.

Philippine Airlines A340
Qantas B767
Royal Brunei B757
Garuda Indinesia DC-10
Vietnam Airlines B767
Air Maldives A310
Royal Nepal B757
Iraqi Airways B747
MEA A320/310
Sudan Airways A320

Lufthansa A300/310
Air France A310/B767
KLM B767
SAS B767
British Airways 777

Just a little update: Today I saw a United 777 at BOS, so I guess you can scratch that off the list. I hope it's daily, but the LHR flight was once again a 767, so who knows.
