Those within a certain radius travel in by bus/car while those outside the radius fly in. Typically, there isn't much upgauging outside of perhaps a couple additional AA
The biggest impact is on fares. The flights on the Sunday/Monday before and Friday/Saturday after the meeting are packed solid and XNA
is fairly maxed out, so anyone else traveling that week is going to pay a hefty premium, which is good for business.
Walmart Aviation is much like the mothership in terms of keeping costs low, but their safety record is unparalleled. There are absolutely no corners cut on safety. Creature comforts on the other hand, not so much. Nothing like the build it yourself bathroom on the Lear 30s!
/Eagle is the dominant carrier by far at XNA
and have great corporate contracts, although I've heard rumors and speculation that Delta might be looking at upping their presence.
The biggest wish those of us in Northwest Arkansas have is for an LCC to enter the market - one with daily scheduled flights since G4
does have a presence. But since we're boxed in with WN
and now BKG, I'm not sure how realistic that option is. It' a great airport, has good mix of destinations for the market size and it feels like it's an LCC entry away from being perfect. Anyone out there that can help us out on that end?
