I was listening to ewr tower recently and heard the word "lifegaurd" used before the CO Flight sign on a departing flight. What does this mean?

When a flight uses "lifeguard" in thier call sign it means there is some degree of medical urgency. Most of the time they are shipping an organ for transplant. Hope this answers your question.

Me is right. From what I've heard, this means that an organ is being transported.
