How Long Does It Take For A Plane To Get Repainted

Lets say a delta jet gets painted this year. When will it get repainted?

Well, if it's a Delta jet, it will get repainted everytime they change liveries . . . so about once a month!!!

A repaint is usually part of a D-Check.

I flew DCA to LGA on the last Pan Am Shuttle. Most of their 727s had PeoplExpress registrations. The next morning I flew back on the first Delta Shuttle, on N555PE, which had been a Pan Am Shuttle aircraft, and it was in full Delta Shuttle colors. There was not a sign of a plane in Pan Am colors at the Marine Air Terminal. How did they get them painted so fast and back into service?
