I think you are right. I have been waiting for a picture of it as it should have been out of the paint shop for at least a week by now. Can't wait for the HD version.

Yes, it will have a US registration as it is financed by ILFC. Three 787-8 will be ILFC financed, other -8s will be fully owned. I am not sure about the six -9s.

We all in Mexico can't wait for an HD pic too.

Thanks to the great Matt Cawby and all the "firsts" he has brought us.

LN115 N961AM First commercial flight to be, so far: MEX-MTY (one off) OCT 1st, 2013.

Qantas just announced they are expecting their 788 (LN 123) in September so I would think Oct 1st is definitely possible for LN 115. It has to be painful to see pictures of the 'finished' aircraft in May and have to debate whether or not they will have it in time for an Oct 1 service launch   .

Yes, but in fairness, the same thing is going on with BA's A380. It rolled out several months ago, sat around, eventually got painted a few weeks ago, and is scheduled for delivery in..... August.

I like the painting on the nose (is that painting)

also off-topic- why does AM register in the US? Is it because they go through a lessor?

U.S. Lessors have had some interesting experiences down in Mexico trying to repossess birds that were on the Mexican (XA-) registry...   Keeping an N-number on the aircraft keepss the ownership straight.

With ZA319 airborne on its B-1 that's 10 in little over a month at PAE and with the AOG teams returning to help out at home, delivering 10+/- a month for the rest of the year at both facilities is well within reach, finishing up the year at 75 +/- as predicted by NYC777 -- maybe a couple more.

Looks like there will be a number of 787 deliveries this week:
AI - ZA241
CZ - ZA380
TUI - ZA317

Possible:

JAL - ZA184

I don't know about Hainan but it's looking doubtful. No customer flights as of yet.

According to Guy Norris the 787-9 is currently being loaded into the assembly line. Also, he reports that the first China Southern bird will not be delivered until the June 1. June is going to be a big month.

"...workers in the Everett assembly plant are in the final stages of preparing to install – or load - the major fuselage sections of the first 787-9, ZB001, into the production tooling. The aircraft is widely expected to be completed and ready for the start of flight tests in the late August timeframe. Meanwhile the long-anticipated start of 787 deliveries from Everett to China is expected to begin on June 1 with the departure of the first aircraft to China Southern. The airline is expected to take eight aircraft by the end of 2013."

While delivery flight would occur on June 1, actual payment and delivery would occur on May 31st thus on Boeing's O & D site, the delivery would be recorded as May 31st.

Boeing has delivered JA830J to JAL on May 30 and it will arrive in NRT on May 31.

Do you have a source (not that I doubt you)?

Additionally someone else tweeted that Thomson G-TUIA (ZA317) is due to arrive in Manchester on May 31 at 11am local time. So ZA317 must have been delivered too, or it will be delivered later today.

So Thomson can begin their first 787 operations with two frames at once out of the box. Nice!

It would be great to get an updated overhead picture of Everett. If I am not mistaken there should be more aircraft (just 787?) there then at any point in history and should hopefully be declining from this point forward.
