Air New Zealand B747-400 On AKL-SFO

Sun May 26, 2013 10:50 am

Maybe this was discussed before somewhere, but I can't find an actual thread about it (only one from 2010).

According the flight schedule NZ deploys the 744 still on AKL-SFO.
I intend to book these legs in Q1/2014 (!), and the schedule still shows 744 for that time

Aren't there any plans to scrap the last 2 remaining 744?
Do they intend to change on 77W?

Or is that "extension" on 744 services caused by the delay of the 788?

Does anybody know if it's realistic that they still serve that route in Q1/2014 with the Queen of the Skies???

Yes, They will be gone by Q3 I think. It is operated by 77E some days too. Yes the extra 2 77Ws ordered this year for delivery will be used on that route.

The 744s will be retired at the end of next year. It will be predominatly on the SFO run until the send so yes, good chance of it on the route in Q1 2014
