Pan Am Jetstreams Will Fly From Sanford!

Thu Oct 26, 2000 1:49 am

Its official, as reported from AirlinersOnline.com:

Boston-Maine Airways (Pan Am) (Portsmouth) is also planning to start a feeder network in Florida this winter radiating from Sanford with their Jetstream 31s. The first route is expected to be Fort Myers - Sanford. This may be a tough sell to consumers.

I agree, with Southwest doing IntraFlorida routings, this was not the smartest move. Comments?

Well, until that unfaithful time comes, they should be able to make money on the route(Although PA3 should've picked a prop like the EMB-120 that's tolerable w/ the pax). Also, remember that WN is flying from MCO and not from the suburb sector Sanford, so people who don't want to go all the way to MCO (It is a LONG way from North Orlando to MCO) can use SFB. One final note, this is intended as a FEEDER service, meaning that these flights should be used to connect to mainline flights on PA3.

Take care and have a nice day

This actually sort of sounds like a setup for students at the Airline Training Academy which is at Sanford, and already has at least one J-31...
Ask why..
