PER - CDG Direct AFR

Mon Aug 26, 2013 11:40 am

I am a bit confused that a meeting I have just had with IBM executive here in Perth, from France, was insistent that there will be a direct flight from PER - CDG in the near future, and operated by AFR.

Can anyone shed some light on this as with 14289 km flight path I don't think headwinds will allow this on the return flight out of PER with current or near future Boeing or Airbus config? They did mention that is would be an A380?

You want a whole bucket full of salt for a suggestion like that. It simply isn't going to happen.

And that was what I told them, are IBM associated with Airbus on any future developments.

EY have announced non-stop flights between AUH and PER from 2014. Given the AFKL / EY partnership, I would not be surprised if EY codeshare with AF on this new route. So indeed AF will be able to market PER from CDG with just one stop in AUH.
I also find it very unlikely that AF serve PER in the near future with their own metal, all the more with an A380!

Same with me, this is possibly what they thought was a direct connection with AFR carrier.

PPS. The $400M has been approved and PER is getting a third runway  Smile

That's the likely option. In the very doubtful case AF would open an Oz route from CDG, it would be in any case SYD long before any other Australian city.

I do the same with most suggestions made by IBM France
