Performance Of AF's CDG-MSP Service

Sun Sep 15, 2013 3:23 am

AF's non-stop daily service from CDG to MSP ended September 1st for the season. So, does anyone know how AF did on this route? Was DL's performance of their daily MSP-CDG service affected? Will AF return to MSP next summer?

I'm hoping to see AF return. It was nice finally getting another foreign carrier in Minneapolis.

The schedule for next summer is already loaded and for sale...so nothing different so far.

As DL/AF operate as a single airline on MSP-CDG through their Joint Venture, Delta agreed to the additional capacity and costs and revenues of both frequencies were shared within the Trans-Atlantic Joint Venture of AF/DL/KL/AZ.

As DL's strategy has shifted toward flowing more capacity through its partner hubs at CDG and AMS rather than flying to cities directly, unless this changes, I expect to see AF back next seasons. At the least, DL could fly the 2nd daily itself. It would be great if we could get KL to take over one of the MSP-AMS flights like the 90s and early 2000s.

Indeed it was. Went to see that flight depart at least 30 times this summer.

Yes, that would be interesting, as would seeing KL in the likes of SEA or PDX or even something new like SJC. It's interesting to note that KL actually flew to MEM at one time. AF flew to CVG. How times have changed at those cities (at least CVG keeps its CDG flight).

Sad that the AF flight stopping flying the day I moved to Minneapolis. Looking forward to seeing it return next summer!
