form what i have been hearing only the economic issues are left to resolve, i believe northwest is asking in the range of 32-40.00 an hr. and the united mechanics want an industry leading pact in the high 30's. can these mechanics break away from being in the ramp and cabinservice wage scale? i hope so.

I'm not really up to speed but this is what i've heard.

ual talks have started from the beginning after the union heard what the pilots got.

sticking points are money and pushbacks. right now mechs do pushbacks and united wants rampers to do pushbacks, IAM says no the mechs will do pushbacks.

IAM hasn't really given a $ amount all they are saying is industry leading and some. we are demanding minimum base $35.

I think talks are in washington right now and we are being advised of a possible strike after thanksgiving.
don't think it will come to that though so don't get alarmed just yet.
